The 24th APDR Congress has the following central theme: Intellectual Capital and Regional Development: New landscapes and challenges for spatial planning.

The chosen issue assumes major relevance, as it is urgent to expand the ongoing debate on the importance of identifying, monitoring and managing the different components of regionally based intellectual capital, in order to stimulate a structural change in regional innovation regimes and development, based on endogenous growth factors.
